[Link] | so my computer is finally working again. san francisco was a lot of fun, but things have been kind of weird ever since I got back. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I just hope everything will be all good by the time the semester starts up again.

!doowmrow so absinthe is most definitely not my friend. fun, but not worth it in the least. on the bright side today was the most justified I've ever felt to not go into work. I doubt I could have made it to the car, much less driven it anywhere.

interdecimaholism Things are good. Finally done with geology, which means significantly more free time to work with. Saw Kansas perform for the 4th of July, but got absolutely soaked in the process. My room is slowly but surely coming into order; I finally have a bed, dresser, and bookshelves. I finally have a working computer, albeit a shadow of its former glory. Just picked up an awesome Kenyan drum-stool at a yard sale yesterday, still haven't figured out what to do with it though. Same goes for my recently acquired chandelier. I also have a tree, which is doing well, along with two other smaller plants, and even more on the way. Plans are in place to go out to San Francisco again for a week in early august, which should be amazing as always. The only unfortunate thing is the constant necessity of regularly feeding myself and keeping on top of the ever growing mess that is my house. The other night I walked a good four blocks on Prospect, across Olden, not the nicest neighborhoods, wearing a bright day-glow orange vest and a black bandanna around my neck. Needless to say I wasn't in my entirely right state of mind, and looking back on it I'm somewhat surprised I didn't get shot. Seriously though, it's time for our neighborhood crips to know that there's a new gang in town, and they best respect or I'll get my crack team of lawyers on their pansy asses. Their response: "crack? where!?!?"

[Link] | Quick update... I'm living in ewing now, which is awesome, despite the definite lack of furniture. Taking geology at night three days a week, which isn't awesome, but it's nice to get it out of the way. Makes it hard to get completely moved in. Making it even harder is the fact that four of the things that have already been moved in are a wii, xbox360, ps3, and hi-def tv. I'm completely overwhelmed. Right now it's just Ken and I living there, as it will be for most of the summer. Juan should be coming into town tonight actually, for the weekend. Our 'hauswarming' party is saturday night, all are invited, it should be an excellent time. Right now my biggest problem is finding some way of transporting couches. I can basically use as many as I can find, and I've already found a couple, but I have no way of getting them to my house. It's really frustrating, I have chairs but half the time I just wind up chilling on the floor. Still don't have any internet either, and my cell phone is disfunctional. Worst communication studies major ever.

[Link] | This really is the finals week from hell. And it's only Tuesday. Had a makeup macroeconomics exam today, which I could have done better on, after which I immediately got everything I needed together and took a train up to New York City. Unfortunately no one was willing to go with me, but I didn't really mind going alone so it was fine. Wound up spending more time in transit than anything, did a good deal of writing on the way there to clear my head. I did thankfully get enough time at the Met to be able to complete the papers I need to get done for Art History. Now I have to do those, and get a bunch of work and studying done in time for my two finals on Friday. Two days to do it, I just hope I spend them wisely. So yeah, done with finals on Friday, then I'm going to a rave on Friday night, so I'd say consider me officially back in Princeton sometime Saturday.

[Link] | just tried to sleep but was instead greeted by an hour of the most vivid and terrifying nightmares I've had within memory. They ranged from rowdy brits climbing in through my window and eating my stomach to accidentally breaking a table back home because I thought it was my bed. None of it felt like dreams, mine are rarely that concrete. Not everything that happened was scary and yet I maintained a sense of urgent fear throughout, despite the disjointedness of the scenarios. I retained my sense of urgent fear throughout. I really need to avoid trying to sleep when there's a demon-looking shadow splayed across my ceiling, it's just asking for trouble.

[Link] | So tonight I had dinner with Howard Zinn. It was pretty surreal. Then got to sit front and center as he gave his speech in Forcina 134. The room was packed, it was fantastic. And when I say packed I don't mean 80%, I mean that there was an extensive line and chairs had to be brought in because we ran out of standard seating. If you don't know who Zinn is, basically he's a liberal historian who is very well known and respected in the appropriate circles. His most famous book, A People's History of the United States, has sold over a million copies and many would consider it among the most important books of our time. After that a bunch of us went to my room to drink, which was a really good time overall. I wound up kind of pissed off by the end of it, but that's a separate issue. On the whole it was a great deal of fun, despite the games at play. But yeah, Zinn is going to be a hard act to follow next year. Probably impossible in all honesty, but we'll try out best. Either way great things are ahead, there's no doubt about that.

[Link] | I promised myself I would stop updating this, but I can't really come up with any other way of occupying myself right now. I had to stay up all Thursday night doing work, finally went to sleep maybe 8:00pm Friday and suddenly 6 hours later I'm awake again. It kind of sucks. I didn't even mean to delay doing all my shit until the last minute, the last week has just been pretty hellish with getting sick and the breakup and everything. Whatever, I've pretty much decided it was for the best. I tried my best, I really did, I just don't know what else I could have done. I'm looking forward to what will hopefully be a therapeutic break, if I don't somehow drive myself further crazy. A bunch of people are in town, and Xander is coming in on Friday. He's coming to the March on the Pentagon on Saturday, too, which is going to be awesome. I can't wait. I didn't bring my Wii home with me because I didn't want to spend any of my alone time this break playing video games. I think I'm already regretting that decision; I could really go for some battalion wars right about now. Oh house next year. Juan, Ken, and I are basically in an apartment that takes up the second floor and attic of the house. Rachael and her friend Bailey are getting the downstairs apartment, and we share the basement. It's a really great place, I honestly can't wait. Basically the second floor has two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a living (+gaming) room. My bedroom (and hookah room) is going to be the attic. Next year is going to be amazing, and all I need to do first is to save up and get a car. The lease starts in June, so we'll be chilling there off and on all summer, too. Also, I'm on spring break from now until the 18th so anyone who's in town and wants to chill just give me a call.

[Link] | Haven't updated in a while, probably won't again any time soon. Here's where I am though, for those who're interested. So far the semester has been good, the only class I don't like is chemistry and the material in that so far hasn't been any harder than it was in high school. Things are getting off to a much better start than last semester, although I'm still not quite as on top of things as I'd like to be. It's a slow process, I guess. Things with Elaine are good, if a bit unusual. Then again I've never been a big fan of the usual. We went to Washington D.C. last weekend as part of the Progressive Student Alliance and attended the big protest. There were maybe 100,000 people there, 25 of us from TCNJ, it was a lot of fun. The next is in March, and should be even bigger. Hopefully we'll be able to fill an entire bus with TCNJ students next time, instead of having to share it with coalition for peace action members. That's about all I can think to write about for now, if there's any other aspect of my life with which you are interested just send me an IM or something.

[Link] | Trying to organize my memories from the past few days here, it's been pretty intense. Friday we had a big Smash Bros Melee gaming night plus hookah at Nick's place, which was a really good time. Haven't had a chance to play with a bunch of skilled players in so long, I had forgotten how much fun the game can be. Corey stayed over Friday night, and in the morning we took the train up to New York City. Met up with my sister and her friend Katie in the village, walked around, saw some cool street performers, made friends with this random sketchy kid who was walking around trying to find a job. Eventually Corey, Laura, and I made it to port authority and took a bus to my brother's place in Tenafly, where we spent Saturday night. Sunday we managed to put together a five on five game of touch football. Four of them were locals we met on the way to the field and got to join us. Even got Laura to play for a bit when the two korean kids had to leave, it was a good time. Finally got back to Princeton, and after dinner I went to New Brunswick to spend New Years at Nick's campus apartment. Lots of fun, put champaigne in the hookah which made a huge difference, and even though we eventually got busted by an RA (can't remember the last time that happened) it was still a good time.

[Link] | So I went on a bit of a trip wednesday, with Corey, Josh, and Elaine. Ken met up with us too, and Keith stopped by for a bit to smoke hookah. It was a lot of fun, if a bit overwhelming at points. Unfortunately my body couldn't quite handle it, and I felt pretty awful all of thursday. Fucking digestive system. I slept from 9:00-2:30, and have since been messing around a bit in Zelda and watching an amazing all blacks vs wallabies rugby game from 2000. Now that it's closing in on 6:00 in the morning I'm thinking that maybe trying for more sleep would be the best option. In fact, I think I'll go do that. Not having anymore schoolwork to bitch about is pretty awesome.

celebratoriation So all the studying paid off and I actually think I did pretty well on my Japanese exam. Still not sure how big of an impact that's going to have on my grade for the class, but at this point as long as I pass I'm happy. Now all that's left is an easy film exam tomorrow and I'm completely done. I'll be back in princeton tomorrow night, but I'm going to be busy on wednesday. If anyone wants to hang out though give me a call, we'll definitely figure something out. I'm going to be around all of winter break this year, no trip to texas, but I know a lot of people won't be and I'd like to see everyone at least once.
Now... cleaning and packing!
